We’re actually (finally) doing this.
I’ve seen — and signed up for — many author newsletters. Now I’ve finally jumped on board to start my own for a very (very) special reason.
Until the new year though, I can’t share what that special reason is! I’m a ball of excitement and impatience as I wait to finally reveal my Dream-Come-True news with you. Until that time, please accept this fun sneak peek of art I had commissioned a few months back to tide you over. I promise the full piece is worth the wait and will be revealed along with the other secret I’m keeping!
Even this sneak peek is so beautiful!! 😍 I have the full piece as my lock screen on my phone and stare at in awe every time. I can’t wait to share the full piece with you in the near future!!!
On another note: thank you for joining me on this journey. Whether you’ve been around for a long time or have just recently discovered me and my work. I appreciate all of you so so much and any support you’re able to give. Writing a book is a difficult task and as I’ve learned through the years, getting that book into stores & readers’ hands tests just how much stubborn determination & unbridled faith you have in yourself.
I’ll be spending the rest of 2023 under deadline, so I’ll be sitting at my desk working away on my book when I’m not spending time with my loved ones for Christmas. That means until the new year, this will be the last you hear from me! I will however, let you know about some of my recent favourite reads and watches. Maybe you’ll get to enjoy them too over the holiday season!
Books
I’ve loved reading these four Young Adult books over the past couple of months! Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross is a stellar romantic historical fantasy story that sucked me right in and still hasn’t let go of my heart (the sequel has been PRE-ORDERED let me tell you). Their Vicious Games by Joelle Wellington is a masterclass in blending horror with satire with whip-smart writing. Together We Rot by Skyla Arndt is the perfect autumn / Halloween read with a unique take on a cult and amazing atmospheric writing. The Rosewood Hunt by Mackenzie Reed blends a fun treasure hunt adventure wonderfully with the thrills of danger nipping at the characters’ heels.
TV Shows
Three of these shows came out and/or finished up a while ago, but I’ve just gotten around to watching them recently! I read All the Light We Cannot See last year and while it was quite different to my usual reads, it held my attention the entire story. When the show came out earlier this month, I knew I had to give it a watch. Mark Ruffalo did a fantastic job and I loved the performances from the other stars. My only grievance is I wish it were longer!
Only Murders in the Building is one of those shows that’ll always be my go-to for fun, light-hearted, yet expertly plotted murder mysteries. I love the cast and the writing so much! Season 4 can’t come soon enough.
This Is Us was not always an easy show to watch, but oh man, is it one of my top favourites of all time. I love the entire cast and the overarching story even if it’s a tear-jerker most of the time! Mandy Moore has been a favourite since I watched her in A Walk to Remember and I loved her performance in this show.
Queen Charlotte was a wonderful spin-off to Bridgerton! I enjoyed getting to know Queen Charlotte’s character more as a young woman and found her version of strength while facing her challenges as a new, lonely queen very compelling. Antony x Kate is still my favourite ship from the Bridgerton world, but I appreciated Charlotte and George’s relationship too!
A Final Note
That’s the end of this first newsletter of mine. I hope the rest of the year is fruitful and healing for you wherever you are in the world! I’ll see you back here in the new year for that special news.
Until then.
